I just recently recieved a personal message in my YouTube inbox from a fellow African-American saything that I was a traitor to my race just because I made a few comments on serveral videos saying that I didn't vote for Obama - and was glad that I didn't.

He also played the "historical moment in history, slavery, racisim" guilt trip and he went on and on.

To me, Obama's not even a real African-American if you think about it. His father was from Kenya. His mother was a white-American. He's not a desendant of black american slaves. Technically, he's Kenyan-American.

Of course it would be pointless to explained this to him, so I didn't reply back to him.

I felt he wasn't right for the job. And I get hated on because I didn't support the black man. But anyway....

I was wondering, have any of you gotten any negative feedback from anyone?

I didn't know it was this difficult being a black republican. lol

i get the negativity everyday, but fortunately i do have a FEW family mambers, friends, and co-workers who will at least look and listen and understand.

Joyce, I've heard the negativity too. I did some radio shows during the election season because of my book, "More Christian than African-American," so you know that title will bring out some folk. :-) You did well not to respond. It only fuels the fire. I try to come from a biblical perspective and even then, some people want to make it all about politics. It's definitely difficult when you're not running the "party line" but stick to your convictions. That's the great thing about this group--we get to be around like-minded people.

Kimberly I agree with you. Responding to this type of negative attack will only fuel the fire. We live in a great country that allows us the right to believe as we choose and vote for who we want. Stay strong Joyce. The "battle" is just beginning.

Oh, yeah.....it's a way of life for black conservatives/Republicans.

The only good thing about it is that if it's coming from people you know and you're involved in your local party, then it's good preparation for what you face from people you don't know. Otherwise, it's pointless...and mostly laughable.

Many Americans, both black and white, quite simply worship President Barack Obama. No amount of statistics, quotes or reason will allow them to admit anything wrong about President Obama. It is futile to respond to persons that venerate President Obama, period. Like the old saying, "Love is blind". Hopefully if Obama continues to lie and flip flop enough, their eyes will be opened.

Most of my family members are Democrats. Before the election I had a spirited debated with my daughter-in-law :-) She said she wouldn't mind giving a little more in taxes if it would help someone get health insurance. Well now I'm praying for her, my son, and grandchildren that BO hasn't messed this country up so badly that they will be paying taxes for years to come.

I'm glad I found this group.

i voted for obama because i wanted a black family in the white house but i have moved on. i have a business and i'm terrified of his huge tax increases. i remind black people that obama will destroy alot of black businesses. i don't get a negative response from people.
