brother john, have you ever prayerfully considered remaining in law enforcement, but changing your geography?
my husband is a retired marine gunny; our eldest is in law enforcement. he started as a patrolman, went to to drug task force, then to homicide detective, now he's in internal affairs and happy as a clam!!!! ia affords him time to work on his master's because he wants to be a commissioner one day. we are in nc, but he is in pine bluff, arkansas. blacks are living very well in the little rock-pine bluff area. I for one will not behave as the liberals, democrats or Bush haters have the past 8 years. That's one of the reason's that I believe that I love and agree with what Conservatism is all about.
