Gay marriage: Another death blow to the struggling African American family?

These are a few of the secular reason why I’m against same sex marriage but of course there are religious reasons why I’m against it as well. Our Christian faith helped sustain us during the dark days of slavery and Jim Crow and it was our Christian religious leaders like Martin Luther King, Ralph David Abernathy and others - who through their faith, determination, and sacrifices - broke the back of legal discrimination in this country. There is not…

The Founding Fathers, the Constitution, and Slavery

Listen closely, Libs!!

I was disappointed, but sadly not surprised, to see yet again, another person take something at face value instead of actually looking into the matter before posting it. I've been on CNN, MSNBC, radio-one (black entertainment radio), etc. and all of the stories on Cain/Bachmann are pretty much the same...something along the lines of:

"they say they support founding principles and the…

The Obama Platform: Installing San Francisco’s LGBT Software onto the US Military Hard Drive

The comparison of Socialist Icon Vladimir Lenin to President Barack Obama may seem either provocative to some or off the beaten path to others.  No, the recent endorsement of Obama’s reelection bid by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ( did not influence this comparison.  The two world leaders… Continue

Every since the Voting Rights Act, the Black Vote has been manipulated in one sense or another. The Miami Dade County Mayoral race is just one of the most egregious examples in recent history that I’ve seen.

While everyone has the right to run for public office just like everyone has the right to vote, the presence of Luther Campbell on the ballot as a candidate to run the 4th largest county in the U.S. with almost 2.5 million people, 29,000 employees, 35 municipalities and a budget…

Our Turn to be Republicans

“The Life of the Republican party lay in its devotion to justice, liberty and humanity. When it abandoned or slighted these great moral ideas and devoted itself to materialistic measures, it no longer appealed to the heart of the nation, but to its pocket.”

These words appear in the autobiography Life and Times of Frederick Douglass. Douglass was a former slave who taught himself and others to read while in slavery. He refused to accommodate to the evil…

Abortion In Israel

In the abortion debate, is there a "Conflict of Interest" within the Black community and among her leaders? Read my free weekly column entitled: "Conflict of Interest" and find out. Each week I examine the abortion debate from an African-American's perspective with a Judeo Christian Worldview.…

Deja vu all over again.

Doesn't this sound familiar?
Henry Morgenthau Secretary of the Treasury 1934-1945

"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.…

Life in the Liberal Matrix

If you think it is tough to be a conservative in a very liberal state. Try being a black man who is a Reagan conservative living here in the Liberal Matrix, Pasadena,Los Angeles County, California in 2011. It's funny, I find myself more comfortable being the only black person, other than the staff, at an event at the Reagan or Nixon library than I ever would be at an NAACP event. You should see the reaction of folks when they see me reading Ann Coulter's book "Demonic"(she will be at the Nixon… Continue

Does Barack Obama Deserve the Black Vote in 2012? (Part 2) by Robert Oliver

Continued from

Smiley received vitriol for saying Obama was to be held accountable just as we have held other elected officials accountable. He received death threats because of his open criticism of the President and because he did not adhere to the party line…

Does Barack Obama Deserve the Black Vote in 2012? (Part 1) by Robert Oliver

Two curious banners hang on the building of the Los Angeles Sentinel, a major Black community newspaper.  One banner says: “Neighbors, Community, and Friends: We must vote to re-elect President Barack Obama. Tell all your friends in the Red States too!” The other says: “Support our President.”…

Many a profound thing has been said on my radio shows recently.  Andre Harper gave me a better understanding of how to get through the “struggle” and how it’s a private, not a state matter, to “get the booty” [Andre Harper on The Exceptional Conservative Show]!  I would not have heard such poignancy on FOX Cable News or CNN news programs.  I have heard Kamal Saleem describe…

PLEASE PARDON ME............

It does not matter how much interaction I have had growing up and going to school and, then war, with "Blacks,"

I still feel apprehensive commenting on your community's issues because of my race.

However, it is the "grace of…

End of the Tea Party? I Can't Wait!

I can’t wait until the Tea Party Movement is over! That’s right, I said it.  Not because I hate the Tea Party.  To the contrary, I love the Tea Party. I am the Tea Party. I am a young, middle class mother who is alarmed at the disastrous habits of an oversized government and feels obligated to get involved politically for the sake of my children’s futures.  I have attended several Tea Party events.  I’ve met wonderful, kind patriotic Americans who are motivated to pull this…

An observation

Why so many Move-On-Up members have not posted a profile picture?  I hope it is not because you are afraid your liberal friends will find out that you have might have conservative views and enjoy collaborating with a few likeminded people. I am discovering that many of my brothers and sisters are politically liberal, but socially conservative. I am not sure if this observation is paradoxically. Any thoughts!
