Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Freedom and the right to choose, within the boundary of harming no one, is the most precious of gifts given to us by God. The Founding Fathers, through the Bill Of Rights and the Declaration Of Independence, sought to protect our civil liberties, rights and freedoms from government. Government in the American Republic was to protect the liberties and responsibilities of it's citizens, such as was done in the abolition and civil rights movements. Today freedom loving and responsible citizens must resist all attempts by "Big Government" to divest us of our civil liberties and our personal responsibilities. Like Dr. King said, "a man can't ride you unless your back is bent". Too many Americans backs have become bent through entitlements and government welfare, both individual and corporate. I believe the more we allow government to do for us, the more government will do to us. It's time to straighten up our backs!
