Social Network of African American Republicans, Conservatives & Moderates

I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always eventually triumph. And there's purpose and worth to each and every life.
Ronald Reagan

One of the things I liked about Ronald Reagan was his seeming optimism and confidence, even in his assassination attempt when he quipped to his wife, "I forgot to duck". Though Reagan never openly spoke about racial issues, he wasn't a racist. Whether you agreed with his political ideology or not, President Reagan made Americans feel good about themselves. The above quotation made by him apparently wasn't just rhetoric. Barack Obama has the potential to be a Reagan like President but unfortunately the current President is a statist "Big Government" advocate where President Reagan was a libertarian small government advocate. Barack Obama is today's "Great Communicator" but he is no Ronald Reagan, as I see it.
